The International Forum on the History and Future of Xinjiang, China was held in Kashgar, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on Wednesday.
The forum aims to promote the study of Xinjiang's history and humanity through international exchanges in archaeology and history and deepen exchanges and mutual understanding between the Chinese and foreign civilizations.
More than 170 experts and scholars from Kazakhstan, the U.S., Australia, Egypt and other countries attended the forum.
Discussions were held on the themes of archaeology in Xinjiang, the history of Xinjiang, the Western Silk Road, exchanges and mutual understanding between the Eastern and Western civilizations, the development of Xinjiang, and Chinese modernization.
