French President Emmanuel Macron confirmed on Wednesday a project to build eight new nuclear reactors in France which he said were "essential" to the country's energy transition.
Macron made the comment during a speech addressing his decision to call a snap parliamentary election after the far-right pummeled his party in Sunday's European Parliament election.
