At least 11 people lost their lives and four others were injured in a road accident on Wednesday in north Afghanistan's Faryab province, according to a local official.
The accident occurred when a vehicle veered off the road and collided with the wall of a residential house in Maimana City, the provincial capital, said Mawlawi Shamsuddin Mohammadi, the provincial director of information and culture.
Women and children were among the victims, Mohammadi said.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
Reckless driving on congested roads and lack of traffic signs on dilapidated highways are some of the causes of traffic accidents in Afghanistan.
