Chinese Premier Li Qiang arrived in New Zealand on Thursday, kicking off his three-nation tour from June 13 to 20. His visit to New Zealand is the first stop, followed by official visits to Australia and Malaysia.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and New Zealand, Premier Li noted upon arrival, adding that over more than 50 years of diplomatic ties, the relationship between the two countries has consistently been at the forefront of China's relations with developed countries.

The infographic below highlights key aspects of China-New Zealand relations, focusing on diplomatic, economic and trade cooperation. New Zealand has been a trailblazer in international trade with China, being the first developed country to recognize China's market economy status, initiate free trade negotiations, and sign a Belt and Road cooperation agreement. These milestones underscore a strong and evolving partnership.
