VDA: German industry not in favor of EU tariffs on Chinese EVs

01:44

The European Commission is threatening to impose provisional duties on imports of Chinese electric vehicles in July. Companies cooperating with the investigation could face a tariff of 21 percent, while non-cooperating companies could face a tariff of 38.1 percent.

In an exclusive interview with CGTN Global Watch, Simon Schutz, spokesperson for the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA), said that the German automobile industry is not in favor of the tariffs because they do not believe tariffs are a good measure to resolve this conflict.
