Kuwaiti prosecutors asked on Thursday to bring one citizen and a number of residents into protective custody over accusations of manslaughter due to safety negligence after a building fire killed 49, Kuwait News Agency reported.
The Indian Foreign Ministry confirmed that at least 40 Indians were among those killed in the fire at a residential building in the Kuwaiti city of Mangaf. Around 50 Indians have also been injured.
