The Florida Panthers moved within one win of a first Stanley Cup title after holding on to beat the Edmonton Oilers 4-3 away in Game 3 of their best of seven final series on Thursday.

Aleksander Barkov started a rush down the ice after a defensive play and Sam Reinhart deflected in a Gustav Forsling pass in the first period. Warren Foegele, who missed most of Game 2 because of game misconduct, beat Sergei Bobrovsky up high on a breakaway to tie the score at 1-1 in the second period. Vladimir Tarasenko and Sam Bennett then scored to put Florida 3-1 up and Barkov netted his second with four and a half minutes remaining in the second period.

The Panthers had three goals in a little more than six minutes to break open the game. Philip Broberg took a Connor McDavid pass and fired a shot to get his second point of the final for Edmonton. The shot bounced off Niko Mikkola and past Bobrovsky into the net. Ryan McLeod tipped in a Brett Kulak shot to pull the Oilers within one goal in the third period which ended in 4-3. The Panthers, up 3-0 in the best-of-seven final, are one step away from wrapping up the series in Game 4 on Saturday in Edmonton.
