Stunning ancient lake in N China attracts flocks of migratory birds

01:03

Wuxing Lake in the city of Yongji is the largest freshwater lake in northern China's Shanxi Province. Summer has transformed the lake, making its blue water so tranquil that it looks like a mirror. The beautiful lake has attracted various species of migratory birds, like herons, ruddy shelducks and great crested grebes. It's a large-scale wetland rare in the semi-arid areas of northern China and it's an important stopover in the country for migratory birds.
