The American pier being used to deliver aid to Gaza will be temporarily moved to an Israeli port to protect it from anticipated high seas, the U.S. military said Friday.
The floating U.S. military pier off Gaza had just resumed bringing humanitarian aid into the region after being suspended over the weekend.
"Due to expected high seas, the temporary pier will be removed from its anchored position in Gaza and towed back to Ashdod, Israel," the U.S. Central Command said in a statement.
After the period of expected high seas, the pier will be re-anchored to the coast of Gaza and resume delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza, the military added.
