A series of projects have been launched for controlling desertification and generating new energy in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Infrastructural construction is complete for a sand control and wind-photovoltaic project in Ashihan Sumu, Chifeng City. Meanwhile, an integrated sand control model of "construction, management and operation" is being developed in Hexigten Banner. The plan is to plant artificial grass on 247,667 hectares of sandy land by 2030.
