Bill Nichols is an American scholar whose work provides guidance and inspiration for many aspiring documentary filmmakers. At this year's Shanghai International Film Festival, he serves as the jury president for the Golden Goblet Award's documentary unit. In his interview with Lyne Lin, he spoke about his first impression of Shanghai, his role as the head jury, and why documentaries matter now more than ever.
