At least 11 people have died and dozens more are missing after two separate shipwrecks close to the Italian coast.
According to United Nations agencies and the Italian Red Cross, a shipwreck off the southern coast of Italy on Monday left 64 people missing at sea. Twelve of the survivors were rescued and brought ashore to a town in Calabria, but one person lost their life. In a separate shipwreck, rescue workers found 10 bodies of suspected migrants trapped below the deck of a wooden boat off Italy's tiny Lampedusa island, according to a German charity.
