China to send top diving team to 2024 Summer Olympic Games

China on Tuesday announced the national teams for diving, swimming, marathon swimming and artistic swimming for the upcoming 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris, France.

A total of 10 athletes will participate in the diving events on behalf of China in Paris. Chen Yiwen, Chang Yani, Quan Hongchan and Chen Yuxi will compete in the women's events; Wang Zongyuan, Xie Siyi, Long Daoyi, Yang Hao, Cao Yuan and Lian Junjie will be in the men's events.

There will be a total of eight diving events at the Paris Olympic Games: four individual ones for the men's 3-meter springboard and 10-meter platform, the women's 3-meter springboard and 10-meter platform, in addition to four synchronized events for the men's 3-meter springboard and 10-meter platform, the women's 3-meter springboard and 10-meter platform.

China won seven of the eight diving gold medals plus five silvers at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021. Cao, Xie, Wang Zongyuan, Quan and Chen Yuxi all brought home titles three years ago.

Thirty-one swimmers will compete at Paris 2024 for China, including six Olympic champions in Zhang Yufei, Ye Shiwen, Li Bingjie, Yang Junxuan, Tang Muhan and Wang Shun.

Nine world champion artistic swimmer will join hands as the Chinese national team in Paris: Feng Yu, Chang Hao, Wang Ciyue, Zhang Yayi, Wang Liyi, Wang Qianyi, Xiao Yanning, Xiang Binxuan and backup Cheng Wentao.

Xin Xin will participate in marathon swimming on behalf of China.
