Lila Avilés is a rising star in the world of cinema. Her feature films have won more than 30 awards at international festivals and have been extremely well received by international critics. At this year's Shanghai International Film Festival, Avilés is serving as a jury member for the Golden Goblet Award's Asian New Talent section. She spoke to Lyne Lin about her impressions of Shanghai, making connections with Asian filmmakers, and the similarities between Latin American and Chinese culture.
