Known as the "Miao epic worn on the body," the bainiaoyi or hundred-bird dress is an important carrier of the culture of the Miao ethnic group living in Guizhou Province. It is made with Miao embroidery, listed as a national intangible cultural heritage, and features bright colors, intricate patterns, exquisite craftsmanship and different styles. In recent years, Guizhou's Rongjiang County has witnessed a revival of traditional handicrafts, with more talented artisans being discovered and new products being developed in rural areas, injecting vitality into the local economy.
