Since June 12, Guangxi has experienced widespread heavy rainfall, causing severe flooding on streets, traffic disruptions and damage to dikes.
On Wednesday, the city's water conservancy bureau upgraded the flood prevention emergency response from Level II to Level I. Rescue teams have been dispatched to evacuate stranded people in low-lying areas and disaster relief supplies have been provided.
So far, the water is slowly receding. According to the local meteorological department, the current round of heavy rainfall affecting Guilin has come to an end as the rainfall belt moves away.
