The 2024 Changchun International Optoelectronics Expo is being held from June 18 to 20 in Changchun City, northeast China's Jilin Province.

Changchun is known as "the cradle of new China's optoelectronics industry." A total of 675 companies from 13 industries are participating at the exhibition, which covers an area of over 70,000 square meters.

The Light International Academic Conference is also being held during the expo, focusing on hot topics in optical engineering and related fields. The conference attracted over 800 participants from 18 countries, including China, the U.S. and the UK. International academic representatives attending the conference praised the developments in China's optoelectronics industry.

"In China, you have three things: hard-working, motivation, and discipline and honesty. I hope that is going to continue and be a kind of theme for the world … for peace, for health, for medicine and for humankind as a whole," said Manijeh Razeghi, professor of electrical and computer engineering at Northwestern University in the U.S.
