This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Asian New Talent category of the Shanghai International Film Festival. The awards for the Asian New Talent category were presented on June 20. The Chinese film "Friday, Funfair" took home the award for best film. The Indian film "In the Name of Fire" took home the best director and best actor accolades. Indian actress Jayashri was named best actress for her role in "Bird of a Different Feather."
