Summer solstice marked at Stonehenge

Spectators gathered at the ancient stone circle of Stonehenge in Wiltshire, England, at dusk on Thursday to mark the summer solstice. The summer solstice occurs for Earth's upper half when the Northern Hemisphere is tilted most closely toward the sun. It also marks the longest day and shortest night of the year.
