The Republic of Korea's (ROK) military fired warning shots after soldiers from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) crossed the Military Demarcation Line again on Thursday, Yonhap News Agency reported on Friday, citing the ROK's Joint Chiefs of Staff (JSC).

A JCS official said the incident appears to be accidental, according to Yonhap.

There was no immediate comment from the DPRK.

It is the third time such an incident occurred this month, the report added.
