The Armenian Foreign Ministry on Friday announced the recognition of the State of Palestine.
In a statement, the ministry voiced concerns about the catastrophic humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip and reaffirmed a call for an immediate ceasefire in the enclave as well as the establishment of peace and stability in the Middle East.
"Based on the above and reaffirming its commitment to international law and the principles of equality, sovereignty and peaceful coexistence of peoples, the Republic of Armenia recognizes the State of Palestine," said the statement.
