Forward Jarrod Bowen of England told reporters on Saturday that the team remained calm despite the mounting criticism on their performances at the ongoing UEFA European Championships. Meanwhile he urged fans to stick with them.

England finished their first two games in Group C with one 1-0 win over Serbia and one 1-1 draw with Denmark. Though they lead the group with four points and are likely to advance to the Round of 16, their work on the pitch didn't match supporters' expectations as well as their lineup's tournament No. 1 transfer value.

Many of England's fans booed the team during their game against Denmark in Frankfurt on Thursday.

"I get it as well because you want to win the games and be in the best position possible," Bowen said. "But sometimes it is not as easy as that. It is my first tournament so it is my first time seeing England at a major tournament with the fans and the following it is. For me, it is one of the best."

The draw against Denmark was disappointing, but England's fans were as well frustrated at the team's conservative style of playing after securing the 1-0 lead. That's also one of the long-time flaws of manager Gareth Southgate in many people's eyes.

"Yes, we're disappointed that we haven't won the game but those are the standards we have set," Bowen added. "My message to the fans would be 'keep sticking with it, keep showing the support you have because for me to experience it has been incredible.' Stick with it and we'll see you on Tuesday."

England will play their third and final group game against Slovenia in Cologne on Tuesday.
