Eight people are missing after a landslide triggered by heavy rainfall early Sunday in central China's Hunan Province, local authorities said.
The landslide happened in Douxi Village in the Xinhuang Dong Autonomous County in Hunan's Huaihua City and was reported to the county's emergency response center at around 4 a.m. on Sunday. Four houses collapsed due to the heavy rain.
Search and rescue is currently underway.
