Chinese athletes have claimed a total of seven places in sport climbing for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, and will participate in all four of the discipline's events: the men's speed, women's speed, men's combined and women's combined, when the Games begin in the French capital in late July.
Luo Zhilu was the final Chinese climber to secure qualification for the Paris Olympics after finishing in fourth place in the women's combined event at the 2024 Olympic Qualifier Series in Budapest, Hungary. She will join her teammate Zhang Yuetong in competing in the event in Paris.
The other five Chinese climbers to qualify for the 2024 Games are Pan Yufei in the men's combined, Long Jinbao and Wu Peng in the men's speed, and Deng Lijuan and Zhou Yafei in the women's speed.
China also clinched four skateboarding slots at the Paris Games. Cui Chenxi, Zeng Wenhui and Zhu Yuanling will participate in the women's street event, while Zheng Haohao qualified for the women's park event. Cui won the women's street gold medal at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, east China's Zhejiang Province, last October, to become the coutnry's youngest Asian Games gold medalist at the age of 13.
Zeng Yingying and Qi Xiangyu clinched Olympic berths in breaking and will join compatriot Liu Qingyi at the 2024 Summer Olympics. Zeng and Liu will perform in the B-Girls event while Qi will compete against other B-Boys.
