'China Investment Dialogue' launched in Beijing

The "China Investment Dialogue," jointly organized by China Media Group (CMG) and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), was launched in Beijing on Monday.

Shen Haixiong, vice minister of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and president of CMG, Ren Hongbin, chairman of CCPIT, Xin Guobin, vice minister of Industry and Information Technology, Ling Ji, vice minister of Commerce and Deputy China International Trade Representative, Zhao Zenglian, deputy chief of the General Administration of Customs, Pu Chun, vice minister of the State Administration for Market Regulation and director of the National Certification and Accreditation Administration, and Steven Barnett, International Monetary Fund's Senior Resident Representative for China, attended the event and jointly launched the "Deepening Footprint – MNEs' Success in China."

Peng Jianming, general director of CMG's executive office, delivered a speech at the event. Michael Hart, president of the American Chamber of Commerce in China (AmCham China), Adam Dunnett, secretary general of the European Chamber of Commerce in China, Chairman of Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), investor Jim Rogers, Ueda Toshihiro, vice president of the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry in China, and other representatives of a dozen international organizations and directors of nearly 50 multinational enterprises attended the event.

"China Investment Dialogue" aims to build a communication platform between multinational enterprises, the Chinese government, international organizations and Chinese domestic enterprises and the media, and together witness the stories of foreign-funded enterprises taking root and growing in China.

Peng said in his speech that CMG has been working hard to build bridges and bonds for communication around the world. Having created a series of mechanisms for international media cooperation, CMG considers this event a platform to promote global mutual learning and exchanges, and to build a more equitable, prosperous and sustainable future.

Ren said in his speech that the Chinese-style modernization will bring more win-win cooperation opportunities for enterprises from all over the world. In the next step, CCPIT will build a high-quality platform and provide all-round services to better help foreign-funded enterprises develop in China and serve the world.

Hart said in his speech that this event is conducive not only to foreign-funded enterprises seeking economic cooperation and investment, but also to the establishment of a deeper partnership between the parties. He believes that China opening its door to foreign-funded enterprises and helping them succeed commercially would also help strengthen bilateral relations.

Xin said that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology supports multinational enterprises to equally participate in standard setting and key R&D projects, and to equally enjoy the dividends brought by industrial development.
