Artificial intelligence in scientific discovery was named No. 1 in this year's edition of the Top 10 Emerging Technologies report by the World Economic Forum (WEF). 

"Using AI is no doubt transforming the way people conduct scientific research. And we thought this is something should really be highlighted this year," Frederick Fenter, the chief executive editor of the Frontiers magazine, told CGTN during WEF's Annual Meeting of the New Champions.

The report, published on Tuesday in collaboration with the world's leading publication on scientific and technological advancements, Frontiers, unveiled 10 groundbreaking technologies that have the "potential impact in addressing multiple global challenges, from advancements in materials science to transformative technologies in healthcare," as noted in a WEF press release.
