The State Preeminent Science and Technology Award was announced on Monday, honoring two distinguished scientists: Li Deren, an academician of both the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the Chinese Academy of Engineering from Wuhan University and Xue Qikun, an academician of CAS from Tsinghua University. In his remarks, Xue Qikun emphasized the importance of making relentless effort to strengthen the state.
