Former political figures, experts, scholars, and representatives of the media and the business community from many countries will be invited to attend the commemorative events, which are themed "from the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence to the building of a community with shared future," according to Mao.

The Chinese spokesperson expressed hope that the participants can adhere to the original intent of proposing the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence and bring more wisdom and strength for the international community to jointly handle the challenges and crises and create a better future for humankind.

The Five Principles of Peaceful Co-Existence, which are mutual respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity, mutual non-aggression, non-interference in each other's internal affairs, equality and mutual benefit, and peaceful coexistence, were first put forward by then Chinese Premier Zhou Enlai on December 31, 1953, when he met an Indian government delegation.

These principles have become the basic norms of international relations and the fundamental principles of international law.
