In an interview with CGTN Sports Scene's Shen Xiang, former LPGA world number one Feng Shanshan of China recalled her experience of securing the Olympic bronze medal in Rio in 2016, and shared her expectations for China's players in Paris.

"It was a very special experience because that was my first Olympic Games," China's first golf Olympic medalist said. "And I thought it might be my last Olympic Games also. So I did give myself a little pressure. I also set a little goal. And I also really wanted to get a medal. So I actually did it at the end."

When Feng learned that she finished in the top-three in women's golf standings in Rio, she couldn't believe her ears. Her father and manager were both so excited that they nearly cried.

"It was like a dream come true," Feng told CGTN. "I think I will remember it the whole time."

Yin Ruoning and Lin Xiyu will compete in women's golf for China at the Paris Olympics. Feng is confident they will both perform well.

"I would say that both of them are very competitive," Feng said in the interview. "Right now, they are both highly-ranked in the world. So I would say that both of them have chances to stand on the podium if they bring out their 'A' games."
