Herdsmen in Xinjiang move livestock to summer ranch

00:52

The herdsmen in Habahe County of Altay, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, are starting their northward migration to a summer ranch. The summer migration usually begins in early June. Along the grazing route, which covers a distance of about 60 kilometers, diverse landscapes like meadows, river valleys and mountains can provide abundant water and vegetation for migrating livestock. Despite trucks being available now, the traditional grazing way helps the livestock grow stronger, especially for newborn lambs.
