Team China's podium uniforms for the upcoming 2024 Paris Summer Olympics were revealed in Beijing on Tuesday.
The uniforms were sponsored by Chinese sportswear brand Anta. The traditional design of Chinese dragon elements were retained in the main colors of white and red.
The outfits are made from recycled fibers, and various eco-friendly materials, including recycled nylon and recycled polyester, were also used in the manufacturing process to reduce carbon emissions.
Chinese athletes have been wearing uniforms with similar dragon-themed designs on the podium since the 2012 London Summer Olympics.
Multiple athletes attended the unveiling ceremony in Beijing, including two-time Olympic men's weightlifting gold medalist Shi Zhiyong.
"It's going to be my third Olympics and I hope I can achieve an outstanding result," Shi said. "By the way, we have a strong team nicknamed as the 'King Squad,' so I hope everyone can pay more attention to the Paris Games and the Chinese weightlifting team. I believe that there will be multiple athletes wearing the dragon uniforms on the podium in Paris."
"2024 happens to be the Year of the Dragon, so I think it's an auspicious sign,' Chinese boxer Li Qian said. "I hope I can wear this uniform on the top of the podium at the Paris Games."
