Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Wednesday afternoon. Xi said China always places priority on Vietnam in neighborhood diplomacy and firmly supports Vietnam in pursuing a socialist path suited to its national conditions.
Xi also stressed that China is ready to work with Vietnam to build a China-Vietnam community with a shared future and focus on the "six major goals" of greater political mutual trust, more substantive security cooperation, deeper practical cooperation, more solid popular foundation, closer multilateral coordination and collaboration, and more proper management of differences.
