China's first offshore wind farm with the largest single-capacity wind turbines was connected to the power grid on June 27 in Zhangpu County, southeast China's Fujian Province. This new offshore wind power project, built by China Three Gorges Corporation, is about 30 kilometers from the coastline. After the project starts operating, it's expected to generate 1.6 billion kilowatt-hours of clean electricity each year.
