The Chinese Ministry of National Defense has responded to the U.S. military's reported plan to turn the Taiwan Straits into what it calls a "hellscape." A top U.S. admiral recently said this would involve unleashing a swarm of unmanned aerial vehicles in the event of what he called an attack from the Chinese mainland. But a Chinese spokesperson says threats and intimidation will never work on Beijing.
