Mount Wutai, one of China's most sacred Buddhist sites, boasts a unique natural environment. The high altitude, cold climate and fertile soil provide ideal conditions for the growth of wild sea buckthorn. The plant receives ample nutrition from soil that is rich in minerals and trace elements, and also benefits from the abundance of water. As a result, wild sea buckthorn forests flourish in the mountain, forming a part of the unique local flora.
