The European Commission announced on June 12 provisional tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles, due to take effect on July 4. Chinese carmakers have labeled the move as unfair, saying they support free trade and fair competition. At the same time, export data shows that Chinese electric cars are still competitive in the global market.
