China to hold conference marking 70th anniversary of Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence

02:56

President Xi Jinping is set to deliver a keynote speech at a ceremony marking the 70th anniversary of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence in Beijing on June 28.

The late Chinese Premier Zhou Enlai first put forward the five principles of "mutual respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity, nonaggression, noninterference in each other's internal affairs, equality and mutual benefit, and peaceful coexistence."

In the course of 70 years, the international community has embraced the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence, which have become basic norms in governing international relations and fundamental principles of international law.

From the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence to the concept of building a community with a shared future for mankind, China has been and will always be a builder of world peace, a contributor to global development and a defender of the international order.
