"The friendship between China and Peru has a long history and is deeply rooted in the hearts of our peoples," Chinese President Xi Jinping said while meeting with President Dina Ercilia Boluarte Zegarra of the Republic of Peru at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Friday. He also said both countries should use their wisdom of civilization to contribute to global peace and development.

Boluarte, who is on a state visit to China from June 25 to 29, is the first Peruvian leader to visit China in eight years.
