Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev ordered the dissolution of the Azerbaijani parliament (Milli Majlis) and will hold a snap parliamentary election on September 1, a presidential decree said on Friday.
The election was originally scheduled for November but will be held ahead of schedule because Azerbaijan will host the COP29 United Nations Climate Change Conference at that time, local media reported.
