China sent a new satellite into space on Saturday from the Wenchang Spacecraft Launch Site in south China's Hainan Province.

The satellite, ChinaSat-3A, was carried by a modified version of the Long March-7 carrier rocket and entered the planned orbit.

As a communication and broadcasting satellite, ChinaSat-3A will provide users with voice, data, radio and television transmission services.

This mission marked the 526th mission of the Long March series carrier rockets.
