China marked the 70th anniversary of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence in Beijing on Friday. As part of the celebrations, experts and scholars have held in-depth discussions on the role of Asia in shaping global governance and development. Martin Jacques, former senior fellow of Cambridge University, referred to the Five Principles as being "extremely advanced thinking for the period."
