Chinese President Xi Jinping proposed the creation of the Silk Road Economic Belt, which later evolved into the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), 11 years ago. The moment came during a speech at Nazarbayev University in Kazakhstan. And since then, the BRI has spawned infrastructure projects spanning the globe.
