The 24th Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) Radio and TV Festival concluded on Saturday in the capital city of Tunis, focusing on topics such as the application of artificial intelligence in communication and the transformation and upgrading of broadcast media. The four-day event, organized by the ASBU, saw significant interest in China-Arab cooperation.
As a member of the ASBU, CMG was invited to participate in the festival and set up a dedicated booth, showcasing a variety of premium programs including "Opportunity China – Decoding New Quality Productivity" and "AI and Classics."
Promoting Chinese dramas, documentaries, and animated series, the booth attracted widespread attention from Arab media and local audiences. Key highlights included presentations on CMG's "5G+4K/8K+AI" strategic plan and the innovative application of big data, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence in the media.

Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Interim Minister of Cultural Affairs Moncef Boukthir, President of ASBU Mohammad bin Fahd Al-Harithi, and Director General of ASBU Abdelrahim Suleiman visited the CMG booth. They held discussions to deepen practical cooperation and gain a deeper understanding of CMG's advantageous resources and innovative development.
"I've seen the development of China's virtual studios," Awatef Dali, head of Tunisian national TV station told CMG reporter. "We can produce TV programs in a very small space, and AI allows for advanced, lightweight, and diverse content creation, saving time and increasing production efficiency."
One of the major highlights of this year's conference was the extensive cooperation between China and Arab countries in the field of broadcasting and television.
The collaboration has not only fostered technological exchanges but also facilitated the co-production of content, enhancing mutual understanding and cultural exchange, said the Director General of ASBU Abdelrahim Suleiman.

"We are going to broadcast the Arab news daily to China and we will receive the news from China," the director general said, "This will allow China to be more exposed in the Arab world and as well the Arab world to be exposed in China."
"So we can accelerate the cooperation, and I believe the cooperation will see stable steps forward," he stressed.
At the festival, two programs produced by CGTN Arabic garnered top prizes of their categories respectively. "Treasures and Masks" won first prize for TV Documentary, and "My Youth in the Countryside" received first prize for Radio Programs in the Economy.
The ASBU Radio and TV Festival, organized by the Arab States Broadcasting Union, is the highest-level annual event in the field of Arab broadcasting and a vital platform for China-Arab media exchange and cooperation.
