In the Hulunbuir Grassland of north China's Inner Mongolia lies the winding and twisting Morigele River, a natural marvel that appears like a colorful ribbon gracefully draping the land.
The name "Morigele" is a Mongolian transliteration meaning "twisting and turning river." The river flows through a flat and expansive terrain with minimal gradient, resulting in a meandering course that creates a labyrinth of bends. The lush vegetation along its banks makes it an ideal natural pasture.
Due to its serpentine path and convoluted watercourse, the Morigele River was once praised as "the most twisted river under heaven" by the late Chinese novelist and playwright Lao She.
