The Chinese President has arrived in Astana, capital city of Kazakhstan, for the 24th Meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), and a state visit to Kazakhstan. In an exclusive interview with CMG's Wang Guan from April 2023, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed strong support for the proposals put forward by the Chinese president, including building a community with a shared future for mankind, the Global Security Initiative, the Global Development Initiative and the Global Civilizations Initiative. He also noticed that the Chinese path to modernization demonstrates "modernization doesn't necessarily mean Westernization."
