The annual summer camp for youth from the Taiwan region kicked off on Wednesday in Fuzhou, southeast China's Fujian Province. Some 1,500 college students from Taiwan took part in a night-time opening ceremony. Over the next three days, they will take part in various activities, including tours of universities, museums and science parks. They will then travel to other parts of the Chinese mainland. This is the 21st summer camp held by the All-China Federation of Taiwan Compatriots, and the goal is to deepen communication between both sides of the Taiwan Straits.
