Foreign scholars and experts spoke highly of Chinese President Xi Jinping's speeches during the 24th Meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and the "SCO Plus" meeting.

Committed to good neighborliness and friendship, the SCO builds a new type of international relations, Xi said during the SCO summit.

He put forward five proposals during the SCO+ meeting on building a more promising home for the SCO and promoting global governance in a fairer and more reasonable direction.

Farhat Asif, president of the Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies in Pakistan, said Xi's speech emphasized the dialogue and cooperation mechanisms in the SCO. "As President Xi said, the SCO family demonstrates the will for cooperation, dialogue and development," she said.

The SCO can play a vital role in promoting the development of all countries, especially its member states, and in responding to regional and global challenges, said Mohammad Reza Manafi, editor-in-chief for the Asia-Pacific news desk of Iran's official news agency, IRNA.

"President Xi's speech is absolutely correct," said a professor of communication and journalism at Marmara University in Türkiye, adding that the SCO is of great significance to the future security, cooperation, peace and economic development of the world.
