Resembling fragments of jade inlaid across the desert in the Qaidam Basin, the Jade Lake, nestled in Haixi, Qinghai Province, is an expansive and fertile artificial salt lake with its water containing a high concentration of salt. Due to its varying concentrations of minerals, the lake water displays an array of shades of green under sunlight. The lake's shimmering, translucent waters bring a lively vibrancy to the vast desert, also a testament to the efforts of humans to improve the environment.
