Five people were confirmed dead and 83 were injured after tornadoes hit Heze City, east China's Shandong Province, on Friday afternoon, local authorities said on Saturday.
Over 2,800 homes were damaged in the tornadoes. Rescue and relief efforts are underway, with workers focusing on treating the injured and relocating affected residents.
Currently, the roadways and communications have been basically restored.
