German scholar: EU tariffs on Chinese electric cars harm Europe's economic recovery

On July 5, the European Union (EU) started imposing tariffs ranging from 17.4 percent to 37.6 percent on electric vehicles imported from China. This decision has encountered widespread opposition from government officials, industry associations and automotive companies in Germany. Horst Löchel, a professor at the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management, also believes that the tariffs are detrimental to Europe's economic recovery.
